COMMERCIAL & BUSINESS LITIGATION

We represent plaintiffs and defendants in complex business litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, unfair business practices, real estate litigation, and employment actions. Although we primarily represent defendants in this practice, we have also received jury verdicts in the millions on the plaintiff and cross-complainant side of the aisle, including one large verdict in the amount of $12,600,000.

EMPLOYMENT & LABOR LAW

We represent businesses and others in the handling of employment and labor matters. We defend claims for sexual harassment, breach of contract, and discrimination claims based on age, race, gender, disability, sexual orientation and other protected classes. We help to seek mediated solutions when appropriate, yet we are also exceedingly capable in aggressive litigation. We always look to the client's immediate and long range interests when deciding the most beneficial way to pursue the case at hand.

COMMERCIAL MORTGAGE, FORECLOSURE AND BANKING LAW

We represent both lenders and borrowers in large-value, complex commercial property disputes. We have extensive experience in work-out negotiations and have aggressively protected our clients' interests in cases where litigation was necessary.

INSURANCE COVERAGE AND AGENCY LAW

Our firm maintains an international insurance coverage and agency practice. Our work has included such cases as recovering wrongfully denied insurance benefits on behalf of survivors of the Holocaust. We have represented agents across the United States in protecting and enforcing their agency and insurance contract rights against companies such as State Farm, Farmers, American Family Insurance and other companies. We have significant trial experience in the insurance coverage category, including a recent defense jury verdict against State Farm, in connection with the insurance company's attempt to seek reimbursement of defense costs from their own insurance agents.

FAMILY LAW

Our firm has extensive experience in family law matters, with a particular emphasis on litigation of cases involving complex property distribution/high asset property division, difficult custody issues, and multi-jurisdictional issues. Although we counsel that most family law cases be settled without adversarial hearings, if it becomes necessary to engage in contested proceedings, our complex litigation experience gives us an advantage over our competition.
